Default my car has made me regret buying a vauxhall...

it really has. i've not been here much lately because i lost my daytime internet access, and i'm so browned off with the car that i want out of it.
05 2.2 direct, bought september 08, broke down with camchain failure 2 weeks later. fixed under w/tee. earlier this summer, lost power, warning lights everywhere - fuel pump failure. a month ago - handbrake released itself sending car crashing into garage door demolishing it. it had already been recalled, so lookers put another new spring in and advised me to leave it in gear [i know, i know the handbook tells you to do this, but it's 2009 for goodness sake...]. then, a couple of weeks back the timing chain started rattling again. this time it was the tensioner siezing. oh, and the airbag light has been on for ages now, the workshop want a few hours with it to find the fault. at £50 p/h it can stay on, i have put some tape over it so it doesn't annoy me.
i would sell/trade it tomorrow but for 2 reasons, my wife loves it, and it's probably worth as much as a mountain bike right now.
please, people, give me some encouraging words, or useful advice, or anything really...

Did they not replace the tensioner with the chain? I would have thought that would be common practice?

No pun intended with that quote :-) ? Seriously though, you may find that once these faults are fixed, the car goes for a long stretch without further work but its history does not excatly inspire confidence in it. If you buy another, you may well be buying someone elses bag of bits.

it had a new chain 10000 miles ago, so the workshop deemed it unnecessary.

Oh mate and to make you feel abit better.

last month girlfriend put her car up the drive and I put mine on the road next thing look out the window and her Megane had its arse in my drivers side door front and back so O have 2 nice little dents but I will get it sorted over time

anyway 3 weeks later I come to go out of the house and see the woman standing next to the front of my car I was like oh no not again she had reversed her Audi A3 in to my front quarter Lucky enough only a couple of scratches to repair but they wont polish out

Still Enjoy the car though mate had a couple of good times with it as well like on sunday took it on the Rolling Road at Mid Point Garage and got 175 bhp and 192 Ib-ft Wow
