    just done this mod quiet easy to do put a blue bulb in led of course dont know wot it looks like in the dark yet though will let you,s know

    take mirror off then unclip the cover just be gentle once covers are apart disconnect the internal wiring you cant go wrong coloured plugs and sizes then unsolder the led solder new one in take note of the + side of led bobs ya uncle easy as that

    Great info cheers - where did you get the led from - obviously you dont need a different resistor for the blue led then?

    the led was out of dash bulbs that some crank on the bay sold me saying they would fit the mk2 golf i had but didnt so i just kept them and no ya dont need resistors just the bulb a simple solder out and solder in

    Had this one to mine for a while now after I converted the whole interior lighting to blue. The old LED can be desoldered and a 5mm ultra bright(same size as the one taken out) one fitted in it's place. Will post some pics in the gallery section soon. Looks good if the colour matches the dash lights as it lights the centre console up the same colour.
