Yup, from what I've read on here it's not a good idea with these engines...I believe the gearbox (perhaps more specifically the DMF) is the weakspot.

Add a couple of fuel pumps to that...

i did it and it makes them realy smoke causing things to block up and gives it a slight miss at light trottle between 1500-2000 rpmthat gets worse the longer used. may of just been the one i used but wouldnt do it again.

As said above, the Euro 4 3.0 CDTi doesn't take well to tuning boxes of any kind given the reports by members. As Dez said the fuel pump seems to be particularly fragile/sensitive to them.

Panel filter and airbox mod will only help very slightly if you always drive close to red line, due to diesel engines always running with excess air before they start to black smoke. If you could make the air colder, then that's better than just more air.

As for tuning boxes and remaps on the V6...well, suffice to say that now, I wouldn't do either, even under the manufacturers warranty!

Some remaps by tuners (Torquing BHP) that actually know about the V6's problems (perfectly OK when left standard) can be OK, but they don't boost the standard power and torque by that much. So maybe not worth bothering with?
