    Default interesting offer 2.

following on from my other threads the other day

well went down to peter vardy this morning, think av came away with a good deal, got the same size of car, no extra price, no extra money, new color, mines is saphire black and swapping it for an 08 1.9cdti 150, pomegranite with the XP kit and 19" snow flakes. it just got brought in yesterday and hadnt been checked over by whoever it is that looks at them coming in, so they think im gettin a standard sri where as im not so good deal by luck i think.same mileage as mine though, 28000 on the clock, mint condition, they are taking out my leather seats, giving them a clean and puttin them in the new car how does that sound guys, cause it sounds good to me.

So hang on... let me get this straight...
You're swapping an '07 plate black SRi (1.8?) with 28K on the clock, standard trim,
for an '08 plate red SRi (1.9 cdti 150) also with 28K on the clock, XP trim & Snowflakes...

.. for FREE??? (no extra finance etc?)

Sounds like a good deal to me... or have I missed something?
    Service history?
    Body condition?
    Warranty?
    Anything else?

I assume its something to do with this?

Sounds like you got the 'we have someone looking to buy a car exactly like yours' speech from Mr Salesman, I used that line so many times myself and the customers would come in expecting to get a good deal because they thought their car was worth more than usual. And i bet the salesman focused on the new car, not your one?!

It is just a way of them having a punter at their desk, much easier to sell them a car that way.

Anyways, sounds like not a bad deal if they are willing to change the seats over but how much are they charging? Did he move at all on the p/x price or the window price of the car?

I can almost guarantee they 'acquired' that sri xp for about £8k, which is a big profit.

Sorry if I appear to be peeing on the bonfire but although it looks good, there will be something hidden.

Oh, and with miles like that on a '58 plate, its bound to be an ex lease or contract hire. Good in some ways but bad in so many others.

my car was a 57 1.9 cdti 150,im gettin a straight swap but the new car im gettin is the same, but different color with the xp kit and 19" wheels,no catch no extra on top or anything.am gettin my years tax back to refund, gettin 6 months free road tax, plus theyr swappin over my interior and cleaning it.they think am gettin a standard 1.9 sri which is what theyv got written down on paper.a thought ad be comin worse off,so far it seems ok and hopefully stays that way.but we'l see in good time.
