    Default Arms Dropping Off

I went to the extremly helpful "Clean Your Car" at Huddersfield on Wednesday. Been plenty of times before and the service has always been first class despite the fact that I just turn up.

Well I bought a "Clean Your Car" rotary polisher Based on the Kestral. Plus a smaller backing plate on smaler white sonus pad. I have had a Megs G220 for 18 months (the latest one for only 3 months as the first early model died.)

Well I started yesterday lunchtime and stopped at 5 this evening having a full day today. I still have the nearside doors to do - the rest I have done a full correction on - although the swirls and light scratches were minimal.

I am really impressed with the machine - it cost £59 with a 5" backing plate. I've used it with the white sonus pads and Megs 80 and it has sorted the lot out.

I have to say although that compared to the Megs G220 it is really hard work on the arms. I stopped tonight due to fatigue - They do not behave like the megs does in terms of stopping where you put it or where you want it to go.

The Megs - as good as it is will be going on ebay as I am now converted to the rotary over the dual action. Although as I learnt on a small section on the front bumper - the dual actions are so much safer on the paintwork.

Will post some pics up when I have finished - can't decide what to do the last polish with on a finishing pad - I have som e SRP, Meg's Carnuba wax and lots of Mir. Which would you go for. It will be the 476 that goes on for LSP.

    Thanks for reading

    Martin

so you would put wax on top of wax - (carnuba followed by 476) - imo not needed.

from the list I would use SRP followed by 476s - espec because its getting wetter.

the SRP will give the shine and 476 will seal it.

Thanks for the reply - I do like the megs carnuba for giving the deeper shine - but on past history it doesn't last two minutes (especialy through the winter).

I've not used SRP for along time as I always saw it as a filler polish - will give it a try

I understand that the LSP likes to stick to the paint, does a coat of carnumba followed by 476 inhibit this. I do tend to put at least 2 to 3 coats of 476 on when I have the finish I like. Does the 476 just add to the fisrt coat of 476 making it more durable.

    Thanks for your help

    It goes like this:

    clean
    clay
    polish
    wax

wax only really seals - the finish comes from the polish.

yes srp fills minor swirls but that helps the finish.

I used srp followed by egp and I got a really good finish - very impressed.

I just bought zaino z8 and that really works well.

for best advice go onto the polishedbliss website - they have a really good info.

Thanks again - both of you.

Zaino - will probably be a way that may go when I have used the already too large stock of finishes.
