my 1.8 tends to over rev at gear change when its approaching the redline,i think its something to do with the engine management, dont know why it does it- it just does!,if i get too throttle happy the gears wont select and i have to drop the revs again to select gears,is that whats happening to you?
No it revs up in every gear at low revs when you clutch down revs clime 5 to 600 rpm's giving the feeling like you have missed clutched or you have not dethrotled any ideas.
Mine did that, the throttle (electronic) was sticking. In the air intake their is a flap controlled by a motor, take it off and spend ages doing the following ritual. Spray WD40 on it then work the flap, open then closed. repeat until it works!!!
VX quoted me 160 for a new one.
I TAKE NO RESPONCIBILTY IF YOU BREAK IT!!
I am not too familiar with the 1.8 engine on the Vectra C. But if it is simalar to the Vecta B. If it has an Air Control Valve on the side of the throttle body. That might be sticking. On the B you can spray carb cleaner into the Two small holes inside the top of the throttle body, this cleans out any "gunge" that might be holding the piston from moving as it should. As I say I am not too familiar with the Vec C 1.8. But it might be something you could try. If there is an Air Valve on the side of the throttle body.
