Default Hi all, new veccie c owner

Hi all, I've just traded my w reg, trusty, astra g 2.0dti in for a 2006 (56) 150 cdti sri estate. An immaculate 23000miler, 1 private owner.
I opted for the estate as we've now got a young family and do regular camping trips etc. The astra served us for 7 years and 70k miles, (100k in total) without hiccup. it even had the same exhaust!
I hoped for the same service from this veccy, but after reading this forum, I'm considering cutting my losses now! Surely they can't be that bad? Mine has the whole list of potential horrors, DPF, DMF, swirl flaps, and EGR. Luckily the car was bought from a franchised dealer, and I got 12mths warranty with it( it's just out of mfr warranty) and a fully stamped service book.
I love the car, but some of the horror stories on here has took the shine off it!!
Has anyone got a trouble free car 150?

Good site though, and a wealth of information for anyone like me who likes to do his own spannerwork.

Mate, do yourself a favour & give you peace of mind, I would recommend you take out an extended warranty, through click here
My car is 2 years old, a Vectra est sri 150, so still has a year left on manufacturers warranty, but I am going to extend from sept next year, cover is about 300 quid PA

    Cheers Ian

Welcome to the site and Vec-C ownership!

Don't concern yourself too much with the 'horror stories', they are good cars and the 150 is a cracking engine. Particularly if you like doing your own spanner work...many of the more technical jobs are actually quite simple on this motor. Plus there's a wealth of information available on this site.

So rather than worry about your new purchase, enjoy her, she's a beaut!
