So Wayne and the rest of the 'boro posse, were you rudely awakened in the early hours by the old ICI plant getting a bit warm? Can't believe only two people got slightly hurt.

Oooh, what's that then? (off to look on BBC News)

My Dad used to work there years ago (Wilton) as a computer bod (and previously as a Chemical Engineer). I'll see if he knows anything more!

Edit: Now seen that it was Billingham, not Wilton.

A 'little' boom! lol I looked up that BBC news report earlier on.

Just spoke to my folks (they live in Eaglescliffe) and they heard a big whoosh and bang last night. Mum asked my Dad what it was. His first thought was he said it sounded like a pipe rupturing! He wasn't wrong! lol

i never heard a thing and i was still up watching tv, i was doin a job for a guy in eaglescliffe this morning and it woke him up, he thought a plane had crashed at teesside (sorry, DURHAM TEES VALLEY) airport. it is amazing that not more people were injured, especially given the timing, most of the process operators will have been asleep at theyre consoles!!!!!LOL
