    Default What's the antidote.....????

My misses is a nurse and she told me something last night that I found quite fascinating (I'm easily pleased lol). So this got me thinking, I wanna see what other little gems there are out there. Before I tell you what she told me, i'll explain what I want to see in the thread, and that is remedies for things that you just wouldn't have thought would have worked, it could be remedies for illnesses, or household remedies, whatever. Just little curiosities of things that are 'antidotes' as it were. So, here's what she told me.

We all know anti-freeze is poisonous right? But did you know, that at a hospital A&E department, the treatment for somebody ingesting anti-freeze, is to get them bladdered Yep, they give them alcohol to drink, the faster the better and the highter the alcohol content the better. It reverses the effects of the glycol. Isn't that mad lol. Some of you may have known this, but I didn't

So, come on, lets have your strange 'antidotes' etc

Toothpaste can remove permanent marker from hard surfaces, leaving no trace at all.

The thinnest tissue on the human body where drugs can be absorbed is found in the anus. That is why suppository tablets are inserted up the crack. I have been told the French paramedics when confronted with a diabetic who is unconscious because of hypo glycaemia (lacking in blood sugar) use the following treatment.

    1. Insert le mars bar up the arse.

Take ibuprofen before hitting the sauce and you'll have a much smaller hangover.

Apparently was discovered by mistake by the chemists at Boots chemicals when the created ibuprofen
