Default For once the steelers came through!

Well , at my last MOT at a local garage about 6 weeks ago, I had an advisory that my front pads were worn? ( how they knew without taking the wheels off and looking I dont know).
I thought, hmm, mybe they are just trying to get some business, and as I was passing krapfit, I called in, to my suprise some spotty 16 year old came out and said I needed new discs and pads ( car has only done 35k ), I laughed and said "on yer bike", and left.
Today I went to the stealers and told them of my MOT advisory, and the mechanic called me out back and said " have a look for yourself, nothing wrong with pads or discs", and indeed both are about 90% remaining.
Oh, and as an aside, I notice VX are not using Michelins on the new Insignia, they are using Continentals.

They test the brakes on rollars I believe, so maybe it didn't perfomr as it should so they just assumed pads?

Thats what I was thinking.Could be a number of reasons though why they thought that. The back brake pads were replaced the week before, so maybe they were comparing new brakes with worn ones?
