    Default Misfire with V6 Signum

My wife has had her 3.2 V6 Signum for 3 months now and loves it.
But on her way to work this morning, it developed a misfire and she pulled over to the side of the road about 1 mile from home.
She switched it off and tried to restart it, but it wouldn't keep running.
She phoned me as I was still at home, and I arrived about 10 minutes later. Then it started fine and ran ok, but with the spanner light on the dash was lit.
I drove it back home and she went off to work with my car. It ran fine going back home.

I checked the fault codes using the info from this forum , and it came up with
0300 Random / Multiple Misfire Detected
    0302 Misfire Cylinder 2
    0306 Misfire Cylinder 6

Now I'm guessing that because it's 2 cylinders, it's less likely to be spark plugs / leads, and more the coil pack since the front one seems to control cylinders 2/4/6.

I took it down to my mate who has a local garage and it brought up the same fault codes on his diagnostic machine. He then reset them.
I took the car for a 15 mile spirited run tonight, and all seems fine., no problems.

A new coil pack from my Vauxhall dealer is just over £100, but I'm really looking for any other opinions / causes before I go and buy a new coil tomorrow; or should I leave it for now and see if it reappears.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.
    Dave

I'd wait and see but I would suspect the coil pack too

Yes I would say it coil pack as spark plugs have no way of giving codes. Its a common problem on the 2,5 2.6 3.0 3.2 as they are all the same engines.

All the same 'basic' engines but not the same coil packs.

2.6 and 3.2 are on the plugs, 2.5 and 3ltr are a seperate coil pack, in Omega its at the back of the engine under the scuttle panel join so think you can gues what happens when it rains!!
