    Default loss of power signum

    hi all....new to this so please be nice

    ive got a prob with my 2004 signum 2.0l dti....every now and then i get a total loss of power and the engine man light comes on ...it will stay on untill the ign is turned off .....if i flick the key as im dirving it will go back to normal ...this will happen poss six or more times then it will be fine for ages then it will start playing up agian....id be greatful of any help

    Re your problem. Given your engine the first thing to look at are the boost pipes (big wide turbo pipe) for any splits. They may be small and not look like much but once the boost builds up they open up and drop the car into limp mode. Have a good check all over and under the pipes. There are smaller rubber vacuum pipes to check too but I can't remember exactly where they are positioned.

    thanks for that ill have a look in the morning....forgot to mention its flat as(wouldnt pull u out of bed)

    As Duncan has said, check the pipes out first and go from there

    No worries, now moved for you.

    The flat as symptom is also synonymous (blimey, big word for so late! lol) with the split pipes issue.
