Default HELP have fault codes but still cannot find cause.

OK to cut the story had overcooling problems with my 1.8 ls 53reg changed the thermostat housing and sensor which knocked ecu warning on and disabled temp gauge, had the car hooked up today by a very kind m8 and the following codes have been found. strangley my m8 was unable to access the coolant system diagnostic mode which he should have been able to.

My question is is there a master relay for this system causing this fault or a control unit it that is faulty. Or is the cooling system at fault. I think p0571 + p1565 are unrelated although if anyone has any ideas on these i would be gratefull.

U2103 - Fewer Controllers On Bus Than Programmed
P1565 - Cruise Servo Position Sensor
    p0571- cruise control brake circuit
P0115 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit

    • P1481 - Cooling Fan Speed Sensor Circuit
    • P1482 - Cooling Fan Speed Output Circuit
    • P1483 - Engine Cooling System Performance

Did the P1481 , P1482 and P1483 codes come up , if so locate the engine ecu , I have the DTI so will be in a different place to mine. Once located unplug it and spray WD40 in the connector and the on the ecu contacts. worked for me when I was get P1480 errors

Which ecu did you spray ? needs to be the engine ECU not the ABS one, also I tried an IPA based spray and it was no good , WD40 and it sorted it . Think the contact cleaner sprays can actually leave a residue that gives bad contacts , well in my experience.
I used contact cleaner before when i used to DJ on my mixer sliders , I had nothing but trouble , so I just use WD40 as it has solvent in it.

P1565 - Cruise Servo Position Sensor
    p0571- cruise control brake circuit

Does your cruise control work? If not have a look at replacing the brake pedal switch.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

wont the light stay on unless cleared by tech 2 or 20-30 clean starts .....
maybe quicker if you disconnect the battery for half an hour to see if its cleared

but make sure you have the radio code and know how to reilintialise your auto close/open on the windows

cruise control did work very rarley needed a couple of presses but now not a sniff.

Also had the system reset when had the codes read was bosch ktx i think same as tech 2 (£5500 worth). my concern is why the bosch system could not tap into cooling circuit at all to perform any diag tests. Is there a control unit or relay that could be the culpritt, i kno this is a bit of a techy one but if i take to vx they are gonna have same issues of not being able to diag the cooling circuit but charge me for the time it takes to figure it out. if i go in with an idea of what it could be might save a few quid labour any ideas gratefully recieved. thanks for responses so far guys.

just to add the temp gauge hardly functioning and i dont seem to be able to get the rad fan to cut in. just worried might case head gasket issues or car running in limp mode all the time.
