Default fuel saving in a recession

just thought it about time i put something back into the good old vec c community.
as part of my work (hgv driver/drayman) im a safed trainer and assessor (safe and fuel efficient driving)
and i am willing to offer free training to all members to help save a little money each month and hopefully help out family life etc

you will need to be able to come to my home (just off j23 m6) and it will take around 2 hours to complete the course realistically you will save around 10% possibly much more if your usual driving style is uneconomical

i can do this at evenings and weekends and it is done as a series of three drives around a fixed circuit taking on different road types
the first is you driving normally to establish your current consumption
the second is your tutorial run with me driving either in your car or mine (will req a contribution to fuel if mine sorry everyones skint at the min)
the third is you driving in the new safed style and reaping the benifits

this system is goverment recognised and supplied by vosa as part of the freight best practice system an i personally am seeing a huge benefit in my own car and in my wagon.

hope this is of help to you guys

Sounds like the stuff the chief driver used to hammer into us when I was on the trucks....

.... transfer the principles to your driving style in your own can and you might just be surprised how uneconomic your driving used to be!

did this with my old company woodwards

saved the company around 7% off its fuel bill and arond 5 % off its maintanace bill.

the only down side was the overtime expense rose 22% an average driving day went from 7.5 hours to 8.75 hours.

My problem is not that I don't know how to drive economically (my Dad is almost one of those hyper-milers!) I just don't seem to drive economically!!

If anyone owns a VXR, bring it to my house and I will teach you to "drive it like you stole it". Any takers?
