Default Anyone fancy helping me rob a fuel tanker?

Well after getting my gsi vec couple of month ago I was rather pleased with my purchase, then I had my work cut by 26 hours a week so I'm much worse off now and running a 3.2 isn't easy, luckily I have works van so my weekly errands are covered in that, but use the car on a weekend and it's guzzeling way too much for my current financial situation, the insurance is also costing me 68 a month, aswell as all other running costs, I've seen what I'd get for it as trade in ( £2399 ) which i'd sooner give it away than take that for it, and would have a prob selling private as it's on finance, can't get a loan to pay off finance even though my credit history is spotless and don't want to be paying all what I am monthly for it just be sat in the drive until I can afford to use it (and that's if I get more hours which is unlikely or a new job which there's not much about)

Maybe I've covered all options but thought I'd ask here for opinions. I don't want to get rid as I love the car and so does the missus, my friends and family but as much as I love it it doesn't make a very good house To cover the one I'll be getting evicted from if the rents not paid!!!

    Cheers guys

Declare it sorn, get the tax back, switch the insurance to car you afford to insure, say the works van, and accept that it'll have to sit there for a while mate. You've already doe a lot of work to it including the cambelt if I remember rightly, so it's really not worth selling. you'll lose more money than you will just keeping it sat around...

I agree with Penfold. Don't give your car away yet matey.
It won't harm it to be stored on a SORN for a while.
It wouldn't hurt to do a bit of research to see what your Vec is worth either to sell outright or part ex if the wheels really come off your wagon.
Hope things get better for you & yours
    Cheers
    John

Cheers for advice guys, my only worry bout doing that is it could be a year before anything changes meaning it would be sat unused for that length of time, I'd trade it tomorrow if I could get right money for it but don't want a lump of neg equity which will only go on the next car. Might just have to do as you say though, as much as it will pain me!!

If my place had more hours to give I'd take them, I get an extra 2 to 3 hours a week and that's me milking my work load to make it more hours as for another job there's not a great deal out there at the moment, sure I could take a Xmas temp job but they are half the pay I get at the mo and temporary, the job I have at the min maybe less hours but it's better pay and it's secure until September next year and after depending on contract offer. when I could regain another contract like my old one with 40+ hours and be fine

Maybe a daft question, but i know nothing about finance. Are you able to transfer finance between cars?

would you be able to run a less thirsty car? I'd be more than happy to sway you for my 1.8 LS, far more economical, and cheaper to insure too!
