    Eek Rear break caliper + bleeding screw

    Hi, i just changed rear brake pads for my vectra 2.2 Dti and was trying to do bleeding, just unfortunately twisted bleeding screw bit harder and the inner thread on caliper gonne. Does anyone has an idea ? thanx

    if the thread on the caliper has gone its knacked i think. Motor factors should stock an exchange recon unit quite cheap

    Either that or ebay. You could always try to re-tap to a larger thread until you get a new one

    Tapping or helicoiling any material always produces swarf even if you use a spiral grooved tap. Thus it would be easy to get swarf into the braking system which is not a good idea.

    Obviously you remove the caliper and strip it down before commencing tapping/helicoiling, then give it a good clean before re-assembling.

    Exactly, flush it through with brake fluid and it should be ok until you get a new caliper
