    Default Hid help

    Quick question I have just got my hid kit which way round do the bulbs sit in the car the bulbs have a strip on one side of them when fitted should this be on top or below the bulb.

    i dont think it matters as the pattern in your projector unit sorts out the beam. i put the strip at the top of mine just incase

    the bulbs will only go in one way anyway due to the design of the silver backing piece

    Thanks for the replys i can see the three little lips on the clip which holds the bulb in the clip the correct way, am i right in thinking the clips will only fit to the headlight one way round.

    yeh you will see that the two clips are closer together on one side and they point towards the bottom iirc

    Right just fitted the kit everything works lights up no buld warnings, the only thing thats bothering me is i got an email back from from hids4us last night saying the holders only fit in one way and thats with the strip on the bulb at the bottom, the only way my clips fit in the headlight is with the strip(not the clear glass bit) at the top, i know the bulb fits into the clip only one way the flat side of the bulb rests against a lug on the holder, can people who have fitted hids put my mind at rest and tell me which way round the bulbs are fitted to there cars.

    I've always put the strip at the bottom mate, no issues...

    The prefacelift headlights must have different mounts, as the bulbs in my facelift headlights have a lug that fits into a cut out in the mount. They can only be fitted in one way.

    mines the same and only fit one way and mines a pre-facelift
