    Default using oil 2.2 elegance

    hi am doing average of 100 miles a week and it seems every couple of weeks my oil light comes on and am low on the dipstick
    also when i take off the oil filler ap there is always a little bit of smoke
    any ideas?

    I take it you have a 2.2 petrol? There is a known fault with the oil scraper rings on the both the SE and YH. I think 1L per 1000 miles is normal usage according to VX.

    hi yeah sorry its a petrol
    looks like ive put around 2 litres in since i had the ecu reset in august
    that was just over 2000 miles ago
    looks like its pretty normal

    Have you got may miles on the clock? If so and your using 5w30 try switching to GM 10w40, its slightly thicker. Many 2.2 owners make the swap when the miles start to build up, just make sure you change it every 10k. Bonus is it only costs £12 for 5L from Autovaux.
