Default hit a dog car looking poorley

hi guys had a dog run into the path of my car on the east lancs road done quite a bit of damage i've had to do some temp repairs to get the thing road legal again as i think this is gonna be a drawn out one as the dog owner did not have her dog insured.
i know the insurance will sort it all out but to be honest i have a huge excess i dont want to pay and im pretty sure the woman wants to pay for the damage and seeing as its bad enough i,ve killed her dog i dont wanna add insult with insurance companies threatening court action and cost rising because of legal fees.

the dog was a labradoodle (labrador poodle cross) and was flaming huge (i've got a rottwieller and shes smaller) so damage is quite bad and as follows

    n/s/f light unit
    n/s/f/ Foglight
    n/s/f fog light grill
    front bumper
grill (one with the v and the badge)
    n/s horn
n/s/f bumper clip mechanism (where it meets the wing)

car is a 2007 sri facelift
does anyone have an idea of the repair costs?

really gutted i'd only just finished getting the car right as im sure the lads who did the great orme trip will remember id done the full leather conversion.

her paying half and me paying half is not an option its her dog her responsibility and her liability i am a dog owner and take that responsibility very seriously shes never out unnattended shes never anywhere near a road yet alone the A580 and iff all else fails shes covered for £1 million in 3rd party liability

Why was the dog loose on the East Lancs?

And you're absolutely right - it's 100% her responsibility. I know it's a difficult situation but there's no way you should be out of pocket.

did you have any witness so its on your side that shes at fault , she could be funny about it when you give her the repair bill

if that was me i think it would knock me for sick,

    Ouch, some damage
Hit a collie a few years back with the Focus, caused some major damage at 60, it ran down an embankment from a public footpath chasing something. There was a vet's 5 mins away so a colleague who was following took the owner and dog whilst I waited for the police but it was more a case of providing some comfort for the owner that it passed away quickly. Company car so they dealt with the repairs etc. Not a pleasant feeling at all.
