hammer a socket on there
Nip down to the dealer, they have master sets with all the different types in. You will then know the code number of your locking nut socket and will be able to order a new one while you're there
Problems im afraid. Went to my local dealer and they told me the master set doesnt exist. Have they got the spinning collar on, if so hammering a ripper socket aint gonna do any good, unless you can get the spinning collar off, which is anouther bad story im afraid. Best thing to do is find a local tyre centre that deals with these things. I got put in contact with one in Doncaster where Vauxhall take theres to. Took them about 10 mins to get 3 off with no damage to alloys. Only charged me £25.
most dealers do have a master set i have had same problem went down n matched it from their set then ordered key for me as gary3306 said
hope you get sorted
Must be very unhelpful dealers round here then.
They proberbly wanted me to ask then to sort it for a stupied amount of money, saying they had to drill em out, but really they were just going to use the master key.
Does anyone have a clue how much the steelers will charge for the new nut?
I did this a few years ago. I didn't get the piece of card that comes inside the locking wheel nut set when I bought the car so I couldn't order a replacement key - the dealer needs the code from this card to order one.
One dealer didn't want to help claiming there was no such thing as a master locking nut set, but another dealer was very helpful and got the old nuts out with their master set and fitted a new set.
If I remember, the cost of a replacement locking nut key (if you have to code to order one from) is about the same as a new set of 4 locking nuts and the key.
