    Default Microsoft Excel help required

    Evening all.

Who's good with Microsoft Excel on here ? I require some help with a formula. I want to create a column of consecutive numbers with a letter preceding them eg R1 R2 R3 R4 etc up to R100. I can create 1 2 3 4 easily enough it's just that it doesn't like it when you add the letter to it. I keep getting VALUE #. Thanks in advance.

    A Jack in exile.

Just tried it and it works ok for me.

Typed R1, then to bottom right of that box until the '+' appeared then dragged down.

There are a couple of ways depending on what you are using the data for... Easy way.. Create R1, R2 and R3 in the first three columns then select all three, then hover over R3 cell until you get a cross, at that point hit the mouse button and drag down 97 rows. This should give you R100

sorry off topic - where do you get your desperado's from. Last time I went to France really stocked the car up.

All the internet companies want a fortune to deliver it.

    thanks
