Default Out of warranty (62k) and in trouble...help

Hi my car is 2.5 years old and has 62,000 on the clock. I'm out of vauxhall main warranty, BUT now when startying the car is bangs and judders when starting, also have a ramdom roar when driving. A freind is sure its the DMF, also DMF breaking up damaging the starter motor?

Question is, what warranty has been best for this type of claim? Its going to be cheaper to take warranty out and have a claim in a month or 2

Cant believe it tho only had the DMF clutch changed 30k ago

As you are only just out of cover, have a word and VX may help towards the cost of a replacement.

i could do with the whole cost to be honest, DMF and possible starter motor if damaged? that could be a hefty bill, even with vauxhalls help? they would only prob pay 40%, if that!

I doubt they will pay for all of it, but if you don't ask you don't get. Seeing they replaced it 30k ago I would try for all of it.

It is still under three years old and only just over the 60K miles
I would suggest negotiating with VX and seeing if they will pay part of the repair costs if you use a VX dealership
You do have a strong case as the car is under three years old and under 80K miles

If it is the DMF then it would only be covered for 12 months
    So when was that changed?

I would be expecting them to pay 100% or threaten them with legal action as its a common problem.

There is no need to threaten them this early
Start off with verbal enquiries and negotiation
They might start off at 50%
I'd then ask for that in writing or faxed to the dealership

After all it is wear and tear they could just say no
