    Arrow Planned Car Mods help

Hey guys been reading this forum for a bit now, and now have some money to spend on my car. However i need your help on some of the parts to see if they fit.

I have a 07 Vectra 2.2 direct SRi Auto (Wish i saw this forum first wish i got the 3.0 litre V6 )

    Brakes
    - 314mm x 28mm 5 studs

    http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal...bid=5&vnum=137

I think mine is 285mm x 24mm but not sure i would have to check. The brakes are pants, but will these larger ones fit on mine?
Also does anyone know the size of the rear brake discs? Will i need new calipers ?

    Springs
    - Eibach Pro-Kit

Any ideas on which weight option to go for?

    Armrest
    - The vents (i think) on the rear of my armrest have been taken out for some reason when i purchased it, can i get the vents seperate? or would i need to buy this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Vectr...item2a019401f6

On the Onscreen dash, the temperature thing isnt reading right, it usually reads between -40c to 2c it doesnt state the correct temperature, anyone know the location of the sensor?
One final thing, sometimes I get a weird smell when i turn on my air vents, it smells like cigarettes, this happens with AC on or off, and get alot of other funny smells. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Yes the brakes would fit.. and yes yours is 285 mm.

the weight stand on the driver door pillar.

you will have to get a complete armrest.. vents not sold seperate..

The temperatur sensor is in the front of the car.. pop the hood.. look down in the middel its deadcenter of the lower grill.

the smell is probaly because the AC ahve been standing still (maby also because theres been smoking in the car)

cheers mate for the quick reply. with regards to the smell, I had this on my last car, which i had from 20k to 60k and the smell came around near the end, no one smoked in my old car, and my vectra that i have now, it doesnt appear anyone has smoked in it since i dont get the smell all the time. I just had my vectra serviced, but i dont think they replaced the air filter or pollen filter could it be one of those?

If you have an armrest without the vents i would say you don't have the necessary pipe work for the rear vents, its one of them Vauxhall money saving ideas.
Even if you fitted the pipe work and vents and don't think the Blower would give you much air in back iirc they are uprated blower motors

hi m8 - answers to your questions:

    Brakes
    - 314mm x 28mm 5 studs
    http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal...bid=5&vnum=137

I think mine is 285mm x 24mm but not sure i would have to check. The brakes are pants, but will these larger ones fit on mine?
Also does anyone know the size of the rear brake discs? Will i need new calipers ?

to change you will need - new calipers, new disks, new pads and new caliper carriers - you are looking at no less than £350-£400 for all that if you can get a deal. watch LMF they may be doing sets soon. if you have to wait - upgrade to braided hoses from HEL - they make a difference and they are only £55.

    Springs
    - Eibach Pro-Kit

Any ideas on which weight option to go for?

I think you need 1000kg, but why go for eibach? I bought -30mm spax from POTN, £60 pounds cheaper and with no loss in performance.

    Armrest
    - The vents (i think) on the rear of my armrest have been taken out for some reason when i purchased it, can i get the vents seperate? or would i need to buy this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Vectr...item2a019401f6

the rear vents were an option with one of the packs I think. I would speak to your local vx dealer for advice, get the part number, get the prices - then try and beat it...

On the Onscreen dash, the temperature thing isnt reading right, it usually reads between -40c to 2c it doesnt state the correct temperature, anyone know the location of the sensor?

located in the front bumper - easy to do - cheap to buy.

One final thing, sometimes I get a weird smell when i turn on my air vents, it smells like cigarettes, this happens with AC on or off, and get alot of other funny smells. Any ideas?

is your recirc flap working okay? do you hear a clicking coming from the bulk head. if you look behind the pollen filter you can see it move?

Ahh damn, just bidded on a leather arm rest with vents, how easy is it to fit the pipe work? and how much would a uprated blower cost?

Thanks, so calpiers and the carriers are the most expensive part? Where could i buy them seperate from?

Well i was gonna go for the eibachs caues i read they were the best performance/comfort for the price. Will have a look at spax cheers

    Armrest

I think ill try and get a price to see how much it would cost for the parts for the revents, pipework, blower etc.

On the Onscreen dash, the temperature thing isnt reading right, it usually reads between -40c to 2c it doesnt state the correct temperature, anyone know the location of the sensor?

located in the front bumper - easy to do - cheap to buy.

Ok will have a look in the front bumper. do you have a price of the part?

One final thing, sometimes I get a weird smell when i turn on my air vents, it smells like cigarettes, this happens with AC on or off, and get alot of other funny smells. Any ideas?

is your recirc flap working okay? do you hear a clicking coming from the bulk head. if you look behind the pollen filter you can see it move?

Will have to get back to you on that one.

Cheers guys thanks for the help!
