Default Scrappage scheme gone mad! take a look!

Today we took in a car on the scrappage scheme, take a look at what it is!

Sorry about the quality of the front picture.

The owner told me it is a 1966 Ford Thunderbird, 6.4 V8 with only 58,000 genuine miles on it, it had a new gearbox less than 2000 miles ago, 4 very recent white-wall tyres, and a whole massive folder of history!

Admitantly it needs a bit of restoration but I spoke to our sales manager who has said he would sell it if we can get over £2000 for it to cover our losses, i think its pure madness to do this to what i think is a lovely classic american car!

Whats your opinion on this one guys?

all cars traded in on the scrappage scheme have to be scrapped they can not go back on the road, a certificate of distruction must be isued within a certain time period. we have crushed some proper nice motors on this scheme.

What a horible car, its like my dad says "if it were parked on me front lawn id shut mee curtains"! (in a Bolton accent! LOL
