    Default Vectra C Front Fog Steaming up

    My 54 plate vectra sri has just develoed a steamy/misty front fog light, light still works but looks naff!! glass is not broke so has anyone any ideas or is it just best to replace

    a pack of silica gell in it will do the trick....btw i guess it is the passenger side one,???

    its a known issue

    and you can buy a snorkle mod from vauxhall for the fog light

    Do the facelifts suffer from the same problem cos my passenger side is misted up?? I just bought a new one cos I thought it was knackered

    My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

    sounds like it may do

    the passenger one normally mists up following filling the incredibly small apeture on the washer bottle neck and spilling fluid over the top of the fog light

    all i did with mine was removed it ans applied shower sealant to the outer edges of the seals - it hasnt fogged up since

    I dont think the Vec is the only one to suffer this problem, seen a 58 plate Astra passenger side fog misted up!

    silica gel is the little packet you normally find in the bottom of a box of new shoes - or an electrical product
    it absorbs moisture and then becomes redundant - the packet would then need to be removed and "baked" in an oven to remove the moisture
    so it would be an ongoing issue - best advice resolve the issue (as above) and then you wont have to keep popping silica in the lamp unit

    Is there a how 2 on removing the fog light? If so could someone post it on here because am on me fone at work and It won't let me do a search, thanks in advance

    I just placed a tiny hole in the fog light cover (very small, like with a pin) and put the cover back and its never fogged up since - and with the hole being so small, won't let any water in either (you can get at them on the pre-facelift just by sticking your hand underneath and turning the cover off).
