    Default Towbar Electrics

I am going to transplant the towbar & electrics from my 2003 V6 CDTI to my 2003 2.0T tomorrow, question is, the towbar and electrics are original GM, but will the trailer module need to be Tech 2'd to the new vehicle or are they plug n play?

    Thanks

50:50 basically. When people have fitted theirs the module just plugged in and worked, other people needed it Tech 2'd. Mine just plugged in and worked but be prepared to possibly need it Tech 2'd.

If you were closer, or I was up visiting my folks, I'd have been able to have activated it for you if it had needed it.

lol. Well I would normally have been up at Christmas but with #2 due beginning of January we won't be making the trip up. Don't fancy Mrs Duncan yelling "It's coming!!" half way up/down the A1!

Job done and the electrics work ,

But the car doesn't seem to recognise that anything is connected to the electrics, in that the info display doesn't show bulb faults for the trailer and the trailer indicator lights don't show on the dash when the indicators are operated. Probably would need the Tech2, but at least its useable.
