Default Somone who knows there vectra electrics give me a small hand? :)

    Hey peeps
i recently brought a push start button for a 10er from ebay, just a nice little touch i think and it said its easy to install, and from the instructions it does sound pretty damn easy.. no cutting wires or anything just these strange clips that connect wires, it comes with full instructions that are easy enough but beacuse its universal its not specific to any car

my question is, i have to acess the wires from the ignition barrel how the hell do i get to them??? all it requires you do is use the clips on 2 wires that go from the ignition barrel to the starter solenoid then attach some other wires to the ciggy lighter power (which im sure ill manage) and then fit the button

heres the item if you want to take a look http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

basically its just shorting 2 wires together on the ignition switch. Not sure how much of a 'switch' it is these days on the CIM/steering column. 40amp relay would have been to provide power to the starter solenoid although that method is no longer used these days. You'd still need the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on before you could use the button.

My personal opinion is it would look tacky in a standard veccy unless its stripped out and rollcaged.

I know, but i just think it would be a nice touch, and its not a switch just a nice little red button the button itself is quit small and flat so it flushed along on the panel and it just fits on one of the squares parralelle to the radio which is where its going, yeah a relay is provided id to install it i just need to know how i get to the ignition barrel wires?

When i find a bit of time I'll take the cowling off and have a quick look for you and see how practicial it is to do. You'll probably wont even need the relay at all.
