Default Vibration after new Crankshaft pulley and belt fitted.

Cant believe it, had a new crankshaft pulley fitted yesterday bought from vauxcentre for £57 on ebay (brand new) and I got the vibration on mine. What is the cause of it? Are these substandard parts being sold from vauxcentre hence cheaper price? Its actually quit e loud and dont think my neighbours will appreciate when I set off for work in the morning.

    Please help.....

See the links below. Looks like you may have the same problem - a sub-standard aftermarket pulley. Perhaps get a genuine pulley and bolt from a dealer - more expensive but properly made to the correct spec.

Not sure if the vibration could cause damage. I think the genuine pulley is actually designed to damp the vibrations caused by the diesel engine being transmitted to the various items driven off of the belt - that's why it's made of 2 parts and drops in half in the first place.

    Default oh dear

Had to be rescued by AA 60 miles from home with wife and 2 kids. Got back to me mechanic and he informed me that the metal bracket type rod that accomodated the tensioner had snapped. Probably as a result of the vibration he informs me. The part that snapped was metal and shouldnt really snap. Just got Vauxhall part fitted and paid £165. dont buy these cheap Crankshaft pulleys!

Wife was bending my ear about it big time, not worth the risk.
