Default Following on from my suspension bending activities!

I returned from my business trip on Thursday to find a new pile of parts waiting for me.

A brand new strut and steering arm.
    2 new Avon ZZ3 235 25 19" Tyres
    Complete 2nd hand leg.

After work on Friday, I removed the front strut and swapped the spring and associated parts over to the new strut and re-fitted to the car. THis made a massive difference and it looked like I had got away with just a bent strut.

So off to Marshall's on Saturday morning to ge the new tyres fitted and the geometry checked. Not so good news, it was still out, not by much but it was not right. So the steering arm was removed (A special tool needed so I could not do it myself) and replaced, this was also bent.

Another geo check and it was was better but not quite right. So as originally thought, the knuckle has taken a hit. The wheel bearing had also become noisy.

Off home I went and set to work. Wheel and brakes removed, split the ball joints and removed the hub/knuckle from the car.

Once the second hand strut was removed and binned, I cleaned up the used Hub/Knuckle checked the part number to ensure it was the right part and re-fitted.

Looks now that everything is sorted as everything has been replaced! Just got to go and get it all set up again tomorrow.

Taking the tyre cost out of the equation (At 3mm they were near to being repalced anyway) It has cost me about £158 to put it right.

All done, full geo check this morning and it is not perfect. It drives better than ever which makes me think it wasn't perfect before.
