    rolleyes service light?

hi i have a 2.2dti vectra on an 03, i was driving along and the service light came on , i was told it was the swirl valve blocked up with carbon, another person said it was the lamba sensor.
We was told to reset the light as it has had a service, but it still keeps coming on and putting the car in "limp mode", its driving me crazy as to why its coming on, any ideas will be greatly recieved, many thanks Kirsty.

as per other post ...the light you are referring to is a fault light and not a service light ......you need to find out the fault code .expensive at VX dealer unless there is a local member who can help
Plasma ,our local East fault code reader lives in Rayleigh ,maybe worth a PM to see if he can help .

    Hope this helps

    1
Car with a BIG spanner = engine fault

    2
Car with OIL CAN = service now due

    Details are in the handbook
The car is clearly on fault and in safe mode to prevent damage

How long have you had the car?
If it has not been to a garage yet then phone around and get some quotes for a TEC2 and the labour rate, also ask what experience they have of Vectra C 2.2DTI

Thats not really correct now is it. INSP is probably displayed for a service light.

I take it you have checked the boost hoses as these seem a very common fault on the dti's
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Ok what may be blocked with carbon is the EGR valve not swirl valve. More than likely though it's have a burst boost pipe as oil degrades them and causes them to split, check this first

Depends on whether the car is on fixed term servicing or EcoService flex intervals. The OPs car being a 2003, could be either.
