    Default Hesitation/missfire 1.9CDTI 120

I have an intermittent hesitation/misfire with my CDTI, it seems to happen at about 2k revs under light load in 2nd/3rd/4th gears. Also seem to have very little low-down pull. Also sounds like the turbo isn't spooling up as well as it should.

I've had the air box, filter and MAF sensor out and re-fitted, but it's not made any difference.

I've noticed that there is a pipe on the front of the engine which is worn, pic below:

It seems to lead to something bolted onto the slam panel, here:

Think it may be something to do with boost/vacuum.

Question is, could this be causing the problem? If so, is it a question of simply putting a new pipe on? If so, does anyone have the Vx part number?

    TIA

    Adam

i had this sort of problem with my 120 cdti on a 56 plate, sent it into the dealers ???? cant find anything wrong at all was there comment. after looking at some of the post on here about the 150 i had a look at my egr but didnt strip it completely.
To start off i cleaned the boost gauge it was fouled up to hell.

Then took the ribbed metal pipe off from manifold to egr and de gunged that

Then the opening to the manifold was completely foulrd up i removed all the gunge and carbon build up from there, some of the carbon went into the manifold i used an tooth brush to remove this p.s you need to take the large black pipe off to gain access

Then using a microfibre cloth sprayed some carb cleaner and wiped in side the egr

all in all the car is running fine now and less smoke if you need photos or more info of what i did give me a shout and ill somepost tomorrow
    hope this helps out
