There are some things that can be done, before the time and cost of replacing the SCV on the high pressure fuel pump

    Some simple diagnostics first
Lack of power at between 1800 and 2500rpm
The turbo can be heard operating continually on / off / on / off / on / off when at a constant speed and in this rev range where power fails

A simple solution is to manually vary the pressure to the fuel pump
This is done by slowly applying the accelerator on / off / on / off / on / off
The revs will then rise, a small increase power will then return
You may find the revs are limited to about 3500rpm, this is normal

Obtain two bottles, at least 500ml, of diesel injector cleaner
To an ALMOST empty tank at about 1/8 mark, carefully add ONE bottle
Take the car for a drive of about 10 miles on roads with speed limits of about 40mph, don't go too far from a petrol station (plan the journey accordingly)
The fuel tank warning light will come on, make your way to the petrol station so that you get there as soon as it starts flashing
To this ALMOST empty fuel tank, add the SECOND bottle, and about 14 litres of diesel
Take the car home and LEAVE for at least 12 hours

After 12 hours take the car to the highest speed and revs you can get
The contaminant should eventually clear the SCV
It may cause the EMS to return a fault as the fuel pressure will suddenly change
This should take no more than one tank of fuel, so repeat the process over the next few days

I currently have one SCV sitting on hold at my dealership
I will go in on Friday and get the part number, albeit it is the GM part number
I will also see if they will give me a photocopy of the repair sheet, which has all the instructions

Might be sooner than Friday, the fuel pump appears to be blocked again, and has stopped the revs going past 3000rpm

    Thanks Celes,
I have had mine into a uk dealer today. Still no codes but they apparently did some tests of the fuel pressures whilst road-running the car. They say the reading should be 150? but mine was only 30 when accelerating and therefore the SCVs need replacing. 7 hours and £150 for the scv kit. I said ok but then they discovered the parts are back-ordered! Are well, limping back to France tomorrow.

It should return a fault code with the low fuel pressure
However, it may return as "fuel system - unknown error" and hence why the engine warning light doesn't come on and the car isn't put into safe mode
Once the car has had the EMS update this will be corrected with an actual fault code that makes sense!
