    confused steering wheel control help!

    morning all, i have ordered new radio/cd controls for my pre facelift signum 2003 (6 button) just looked in the haynes manual and it says you need to remove the air bag! is there any other way just to swap them over? thanks in advance.

    yup !

    torq screw on the rear holding them in place
    then gently prise away - remember there is a wiring connector behind
    - fit new and then gently push onto wiring connector and hey presto job done

    so no danger of the air bag goingn off??? if not removing

    if your worried about an inadvertant activation - disconnect the battery and then leave the car to "power down" for about half an hour

    but if you do this you will need to reset clock - radio (code) and windows
    then the car will need to relearn its characteristics

    took mine off without battery disconnect - and drove around for 2 days with no buttons whilst i repainted my covers

    confused

    I bought replacement audio controls for my 05 vectra (part # 931832987) but they are a different size than the ones on my wheel!

    Thot i'd bought the rite ones! grrrrrr

    does anyone kno wer i can get the bigger ones from? mine r the roller type buttons.

    main dealer, or you might be lucky on ebay! just bought a 6 button type for £28 whole set from stealers.cant see them being much more for the rollers? not sure though!

    You just have to be careful when you re-assemble as the locating prongs sometimes bend and the panels dont sit flush.

    Taking the airbag off though if you have to is a very simple job - done it loads of times with no issues...

    Hi i have bought the new shape controls for my preface vectra but have looked and cant see how i can connect them in the wheel as the wires wont plugin anywhere.

    Yes because they arnt for your car there for full canbus !!
