Has anyone bought a car from car giant? My brother did, he picked up a rather nice Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec, on finance from there just under a month ago.

Anywho's clutch pedal started sticking to the floor and not returning. I guessed at the master/slave cylinder and he reported it to car giant, they agreed to pay for diagnostics to see what was wrong. So, of to the dealer today....this is what they found;

Clutch Needs Replacing
Slave Cylinder Needs Replacing
Master Cylinder Needs Replacing
Both Front Discs and Pads need replacing. Front pads were almost non existant on one side, and the discs were warped.

F/N/S shock absorber leaking, spring in same location cracked.

Both wishbones need replacing.

Both "rear bushings" (there was something else here, but i forget what it was) need replacing.

A/C control box needs replacing.

Anyone got any experiance with them? And if he's gonna have any luck getting them to fork out for this?

I bought a car from them a couple of years ago and had no issues, although I do remember reading an Honest John story about a couple who had trouble with the paint on their door, and they sorted it all out with no questions asked...

Have to see what they say and what the finance company say...

At the least, it would fail an MOT, so is dangerous and not road legal. I think you'd have a good case against them, but hopefully they'll be happy to put them right without too much fuss.

What age / mileage is the car?

What age / mileage is the car?

Car's an 06 with around 60,000 miles, its been serviced by ford 7 times since new.

I think im gonna go down the "fit for purpose" route, since im going with my brother tomorrow. Dont know when the last MOT was off the top of my head, but i think it has a long time till its due. Car Giant reckon they do a "114 point safety check" on all cars, surley they cant of done these checks and missed a lot of the above?
