    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

    Default 3.0CDTi de-cat

Would the car be much louder and would I have any benefit from it?
Remember my car has done over 160k, so the catalytic converter is probably on its last leg.

Not that you probably have these in your country
It may fail a roadside emissions test
Equally, would need to have the cat refitted on each MoT

Well, if the policeman decides the car is not in order he can request an MoT. But that is very unlikely.

Thankfully I know some people at the local MoT centre

You don't even get that far in this country!
    Failed roadside emissions = fine
Equally if the car is found not to have a cat it can be issued with a prohibition ntoice, although normally a VDRF is more common

Thought a cat was not a requirement, just that it needs to meet the emissions test?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I really dont think it has so very much to say on a MOT, since they are measuring the precent of soot particles in the exhaust. The catalyc cant remove any of them, dont know what it does on a diesel actually... Been thinking of removing it myself, but it dosent look to easy to remove, looks a little tight/narrow on the "backside" of the engine!

All the silencers are removed allready on my car, i just have the two Irmsher rear silencers(one on each side) But i dont think the car is noisy at all!
