Break upgrade - prices and whats needed...

Just making a shopping list at min...

I know carriers, discs and calipers are needed. what would these cost individually for the fronts and rear for both 302 and 314 sets.

Basically want the part cost breaking down

i have the 2.2 sri, non direct.

LMF used to do a kit for about £350 but think they have stopped doing it now. Might be worth giving Dan a buzz and ask if he can sort you out with anything. Also give Autovaux in Wakefield a buzz.

Lee... Matt&Jemz have there old 302's for sale.. I would of has these off their hands just like that, However my insurance companies are total idiots and wnated to add hundreds to my premium!!

I'd be very wary of any VXR brakes on eBay: see my thread here...

Can't access ebay on here at work but Just be very very wary.

Also, take into account the cost of new discs and pads. If there isn't much wear left on the second-hand ones then a new set is about 400 squid. add that to the cost of the calipers and carriers (about 250-300 quid usually on eBay) and you're very close to the 780 quid they cost brand new from Courtney...

302mm front brakes are a very cheap upgrade if you can find them, but how much difference you'd notice I don't know. 314mm are an excellent upgrade and I believe should have been the minimum brake size on the Vectra whichever engine. Again, difficult to get hold of...

For the rears the only option you have is the 292mm vented discs, which are fitted to the V6's (not sure about the 2.0 Turbo...) These are the same as the VXR ones, with the exception of them being painted blue. Available from Courtneys again, about 450 quid I think.
