Default Rear hatch window misting up

What is with the rear window( hatch )misting up, when we get this rain, thought I might have water in the boot or blocked vents, but all seems as it should, looking at all other cars on motorway journey home tonight and didn't see another with this problem, is it just that the venting system is just crap at the rear there on the Vectra?

    Pete,
Do you use the AC all the time?
I do, and it keeps the estate windows dry in misty Plymouth.
Its the only way I think...
    better on recirc too
    Cheers

Weird. Mine has been doing this over the past few days. Only the rear window. No side windows. No water in the boot that I can find.

hi there, have you had a feel around the gaps in the boot down the sides ? or what look like channels going towards the rear doors
I had the same problem and found a pool of water in the spare footwell, decided that the water was coming in through the aerial as there was slight staining on the headlining. I think it was coming down the channels.

For 30 years now I have had this on all cars owned. One thing that experience has taught me, all windows steam up less if they are clean on the inside. Try cleaning inside your hatch window on a dry day (with a window cleaner and kitchen roll/soft cloth) go easy on the window heating elements. Clean thouroghly to get all greasy smduges off. I found this to work in most cases. If the windows do steam up when cleaned, they do clear quicker than when dirty.

Funny you should mention that as I was thinking about that last night, as not so long ago I did clean the inside of the glass and wondering if it has in actual fact left some sort of residue on the glass making the problem worse, anyway , I shall give it a thorough clean etc when we get our next dry day!! thanks for the info' and all other guys replies.
    Cheers Pete
