    Default Cd70 navi

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here can tell me the best place to get an update to the CD70NAVI. The update must be better than the current one which fails to recognise far too many roads.

Vauxhall obviously have them but they want over a hundred quid

Any advice would be welcome, especially if it saves me money.

If it's the roads, then it isn't an update disk you want, it is the map disk...although these are only updated once every two years, and even then a lot of new roads are not put on... for whatever reason Navteq have decided to ignore a lot of updates and map changes.

An update disk changes the functionality of the CD70...TMC provider, audio input functions, minor software tweaks also how POI's etc are displayed etc.
In my opinion the 04/04/2007 update disk is best as it uses the better original TMC settings, not the later naff traffic master settings.

TMC settings have never worked for me with 4/4/07 update. I thought x/10/07 was the latest? I was hoping if i could find this disk somewhere TMC would start working, unless I am missing something?

I use the same update (04/04/07) disk for both of our CD70's (Mine in a 1994 Cav3 and thewifes in a 2005 Vec C) and both CD70's have working TMC.

In fact mine told me twice that there was "standing traffic 1 mile ahead" on my way to work this morning.

Have you checked your TMC settings, it is necessary to select all the categories that you require...you can "uncheck" all of them.

Alternatively, the TMC works on certain radio stations such as classic fm, Century Radio (or now Real Radio) and about half a dozen others for TMC broadcasts.

The only time when ours don't work is when we have no / poor radio reception...
Have you had any radio reception problems.?
If so it could be a faulty aerial or poor connection. The TMC in the CD70 has a tuner all of it's own...it could be this second tuner that is faulty, but it is a matter of step by step checking of you system as follows.
1st - Check your TMC settings...Press Info Button, Select TMC, click on TMC settings.

2nd - Check your aerial and connectors.

3rd - Get the radio checked out / serviced
