    Default CD70 Upgrade

I have been offered a used CD70 & Screen taken from a 2004 car, what would i need or what would be involved in fitting it in replacement to my standard CD player?

    Thanks

There are several threads on this...many of which I have posted on.

The general gist is as follows: -
1 Tech 2 your radio and screen out of the car. (need your audio pass code)
2 Remove the trim strip across the front of the dash (unclips)
3 Remove the 4 x torx screws to remove air-vent and display panel.
4 disconnect the grey plug from behind the display..remove display from surround.
5 Extract the head unit using double din tools...or small alen-keys...
6 Disconnect the Quadlock main 40 pin connector and the white radio aerial fakra plug
7 Fit your sat nav aerial either in place of the existing roof aerial, or use after market patch aerial that can be mounted almost anywhere in the car.
8 Connect GPS aerial Blue fakra Plug, White radio aerial fakra plug and Quadlock multiplug to the CD70 head-unit.
9 If you have a colour screen, you will also need to fit the 12 pin video lead.
10 feed the video lead through back of radio cage and into space behind the display
11 push CD70 back into the facia tilit clicks
12 connect up 32 pin grey plug (and 12 pin video plug for colour screen) to display
13 Fit the display back into air vent surround
14 Fit air vent / display surround back into facia.
15 Refit trim strip across the dash
16 Get your dealer to Tech 2 the screen and headunit into your car (need your audio pass code)

    17 enjoy!!

Time consuming parts are the GPS aerial fitting and the Tech 2 programming.
The actual removal, and refitting of the radio takes about ten minutes tops.

somthing with the canbus cant remember excatly.. but its because you actually need to revert the radio, screen and heater to a "05 model year" and not only parts of it.
