Starter Motor replacement, easy or mayhem??

Vectra-C's starter motor almost on its way out. Selling new ones on eBay £54.99... easy enough to change yourself and are they surface or underneath the engine?

That's odd if it was doing from jump starting though, as the only difference is the source of the electricity, nothing to do with the starter itself...

Most places you buy them from do an exchange deal where you give them your old one and they giove you some money back so they can recondition and sell on...

oh right, they said its sticking or something =S and tested my battery and said thats storing the charge along with the alternator.

06 plate on 37'000, going in for winter service and MOT in December so all goes well I hope =)

It's possibly only done shortish journeys in that case mate - would explain maybe why the starter's on it's way out. It's also the problem with stop/start systems...
