jut got back from a 200 mile trip so i was on the motoway and thought ill put CC on so i pressed the top button and it switched on, all worked , 10 mins later i wanted to over take so i kept my finger on the top button and it kept turning it self off, same when pressing the bottom button, but if i was going 70 and pressed top button to store speed it all worked fine its just when i need to over take , what could be wrong? the stalk?

Not sure if the buttons are meant for over taking mate, think your just meant to tap them up/down to adjust speed. I'm probably wrong though

even when i tap em some times it dont work and turns it off, also if its
cruising at 70 and my finger is just touching the buttons (not pressing them) it also trips it so it nocks it off

Possible a dodgy stalk then mate, try following the How2 to remove it and clean all of the connections

    To quote from the handbook:

    Increase

With cruise control active, hold down button or tap it repeatedly: speed is increased continuously or in steps of 1.2 mph (2 km/h) without using the accelerator pedal.

    Decelerate

With cruise control active, press button or tap it repeatedly: speed is reduced continuously or in steps of 1.2 mph (2 km/h)

    Default

As above really, if you want to increase your speed on the motorway tap the control up or down to decrease.
The connectors may need cleaning, as already suggested??
If you wish to over take to pass a vehicle on the motorway, just dab the accelerator to increase, once you have passed, release your foot off,, the original speed of the cc will resume.

Just a thought, when pressing the upper or lower button, you didn't accidentally press the cancel button behind the other two buttons?

That's what I was thinking, if not, then a dodgy stalk/ connections would be my guess.
    Cheers Pete
