not too expensive but dont want budget either.

I used to pay about £65 a corner on my old vec B, so something around that price.

Get the BEST you can afford
I used to pay £100 per tyre on my Vectra B SRI 2.0 with 205/55R16 tyres (same tyres on my Mondeo Mk3 Ghia 2.0 TDCI)

The original tyres on my Vectra C 3.0 V6 CDTI were 215/50R17 XL Good Year NCT5 at £150
There seemed to be little alternative in that size so went to 225/45R17
The Good Year F1 GSD3 was vastly better and back to my old price of £100 per tyre
However it was discontinued after just one year, replaced by the F1 Assymetric, and that too has now been discontinued!

Ironically, the Michelin HX MXM which I had on my Vectra B ten years ago is still available
I'm really tempted to get a set and compare!
It's a really hard tyre so there are all the issues that come with that, costs the same as the NCT5, but should last about 25% longer

I just paid £300 for a set of 225/45/17 Falkens including fitting valves balancing etc, not the gripiest tyre around but do last.

Ive got Flaken 912's on mine, 215 r17 W50 up front.

Cracking tyres, good grip, and very good under breaking. Also tonnes of grip in the wet, unlike the goodyears

Worth comparing the prices between 215 50 17 and 225 45 17 as they will both fit on the std sri rims, you may find the 225's a bit cheaper as they are a more popular size.
