Can be easy if you have a basic knowlege. Im an electrician myself.

Only advice i can really give is to check what you take out and make sure you put them all back the same.

Should have Live (Loop), Neutral, Earth and Switch Wire.

Make sure all The Red/Brown (depending on how new the wiring is) that was in the Live terminal go back in the Live terminal (This will be the Switch Wire), Black/Blue go back in the Neutral terminal and Yellow and Green go back in Earth. The remaining Red/Brown will be in an unnamed terminal (generally speaking), this is your loop, make sure they go back together (sometimes there isnt a 4th terminal in light fittings so these have to be terminal blocked up).

Hope this helps, i know it isnt the best explaination. Oh and PLEASE PLEASE turn the power off first! Electric shocks hurt! i know all to well!

Matt managed in our house so if he can anyone can. Our house is a pain in the rear end too as it's been extended three twice, last time being in the 80's so we have three different lots of electrics running through the house. It was at the stage where we were trying to do this light with torches because he wouldn't give in!
