Default CDC 40 Opera - Confused

Hi, Just won a CDC Opera on fleabay, with screen and DAB aerial, all taken out of the same car, I have searched several threads on here, but have found contradicting info, wonder if someone can clear this up for me.

As the screen and HU have come from the same car, will they just plug into my car (currently have CD30 not mp3), or will i need tech2? some threads on here state that i would need tech2, others say i dont and it will just plug and play

    Thanks people!!

They will go straight in without Tech2 as they are already paired. Did you get the seperate DAB box? as this is not in the radio.

Brilliant thanks for that! It comes with seperate aerial with a small black box attached so I assume this is the DAB box? Does this also mean that the BC will be enabled or will it need tech2 for that?

    Cheers

Dab box lives at the back of the glove box at the end of the fuse board , has a single multi plug going to it and a fakra terminated ariel , without it no DAB

BC functions usually are enabled on units with the GID or CID screens.
Yours should be GID, and therefore it SHOULD be enabled.

Regarding the DAB, some CDC40's came with it, some didn't.
As said above, you should have a third piece to have DAB...(a black box with a white fakra plug socket on it and a wiring loom to link it to power and canbus system)
Otherwise you will get standard AM and FM reception.

Regarding tech 2....no it should just go straight into your car.
However radios not married into your car, with your cars radio pass code, will often make crackling or popping noises through the speakers for the first five minutes after switching off the radio...
Just an annoyance more than anything else!!
