    Default Power sounder batterys.

Just to let people know ive found a company that sells the batteries that are fitted to the power sounder on a veccy c. Ive been having problems with my car alarm going off on my veccy c 2.0 dti 52 Reg and found out on this site that the power sounder has internal batteries which go dead after a while so i removed the power sounder and got a screw driver to it, it came apart very easily, took out the battery pack which is 4 varta 1.2 volts 240 mAh Ni-MH type 55625. The company is called Batterytastic part of the Cell Pack Solutions company based in south shields, they sell the batteries seperatly for £2.00 + vat, im going to ring the company on monday as they can custom build battery packs which would make it easier. Once i have more details i will put it on the forum.
    Hope this is of interest.

Default Update to power sounder batteries

Hi all ive been in touch with a company called Cell Pack Solutions based in South Shields. They sell the internal batteries fitted to the power sounder found in the left side of the boot. The price would be around £12.00 + p+p which i think isnt bad considering the cost of a new unit from vauxhall. Ive been asked to post my old battery pack so they can make the new pack.
    Hope this is of interest.

That's a good find! With my last car (Astra G) the battery started to go in the sounder and it would 'chirp' each time the ignition was turned off (it's way of letting you know the batteries were low) and the dealer said that they were sealed units and batteries couldn't be replaced. IIRC the same applied to the batteries in the Vec C / Signum (according to the dealer) so that's good to know!

I think thats what happened to my dti but instead of replacing the sounder/batteries they just threw it in the bin and now all there is, is a multiplug. Sorry but the lights don't flash loud enough to make up for the lack of a sounder.

So if I buy a second hand one and the batteries are nackered i'll p.m you

No probs, the company i sent the old battery pack to should have received them today so crossing fingers. It is a big con of vauxhall as the 4 batterys are only larger type of a watch cell battery which is connected by a small connector to the circuit board.

People have managed to crack them open and replace the batteries.

Fitted the battery pack to the power sounder on my veccy today and it works, was definatly the problem i had with the alarm going off. I connected the main plug to the power sounder, set the alarm then disconnected the plug again, the power sounder went off running off the internal batteries so job done.
