Default reverting back to longer Air Intake

last year I did the airbox mod' and fitted the shorter vxr intake pipe both at the same time, today decided to put the longer intake back on (what a ball ache that was and a few grazes on the hands!!) as I seem to be getting some odd behaviour in that when in slow moving traffic and say in 3rd gear , put my foot down and feels like the car misses as it were, ended up test driving in slow moving M4 traffic earlier and didn't do it once , also car feels a bit more torquey, (always wonder about the placebo effect!!) had heard from Rushy that the Z22SE has better torque with the longer intake and at the moment and I think he's right! so we shall see as time goes on how much of a difference it has really made!!

Did you disconnect/reconnect the battery to reset the car's ECU so that it can learn your driving style with the part now refitted?

No mate, as it should learn itself again over a period of time anyway.

would be nice to know your result.. (ive got the short intake on but no airbox mod.. but godt lousy fuel economy, due to many start/stop and short journeys(

To be honest I think originally it was the Airbox mod that made most of the difference to the car at the time as it seemed to get rid of the flat spots/ hesitation I used to get, but think I lost the torque and hence why I've reverted back to the longer intake and also by not disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU it enabled me to feel the instant difference as opposed to the car learning from scratch, if that makes any sense.

Just an update really and there is defo more torque there at the low end using the longer intake, however it still misses a beat as described in my first thread of the post, but not as violently, however I think 'Rushy' did mention to me that this seems to be built in as it were, if you see what I mean; I'm sure Rushy will know what I mean!!
