Door mirror question...help!

Hello all, just a quick question, my Signum's drivers side door mirror got smashed yesterday, and I am now seeking a replacement.
It is the auto-dimming (non-folding) type
I visited my local VX dealership earlier and got quoted £150 just for the glass!, but curiously he mentioned that it is not the same as the Vectra C's mirrors? is that true? I thought from the B pillar forward the cars are near enough identical.
So, any thoughts on that? also, does anyone know whether it's an MoT failiure having a smashed wing mirror?

Mirrors are the same mate. The glass from Auto dimming Vec will fit.

I really would have thought they were the same mirror.

I had mine totally smashed, and it cost £205 for an entire new housing and glass fitted and painted. I do think that it would be an MOT failure on the driver's side.

if ya interested ive got a drivers side mirror housing which is
also auto dimming,it was removed fom my 06 signum

£30 delivered

all you will have to get is the mirror glass and ya existing mirror motor
and cover will fit onto the new housing.

is ya mirror cover also smashed or is it just purely the glass thats
smashed ???

thanks for the offer, the mirror housing and mechanism is all fine, so its just the glass that I need

hi if you are interested my dad designs and cuts machines for the car industry and he can cut you a mirror, if the backing plate is ok you can stick the mirror to the broken galss no problem at all. pm me for info

Are you sure you are being quoted for the right part. I think I can remeber when I needed to replace the door mirror and was told there were three different types. Normal, Auto-dimming and the folding ones. The folding ones where the £150 ones while the dimming ones where about £30. I think the part number for the dimming one is 24461569 but don't quote me on that. Check it out!!
