    Default intercooler pipe

hi, my 2.0 dti has gone into limp mode yet again due to what was diagnosed as a dodgy maf but after replacement it made no difference. fault was then traced to the top intercooler pipe which has split. im told you have to buy the whole pipe set up and cant get just the bit i need, is this correct. i was thinking about getting a stainless steel and silicone job made up, afterall it cant be any more than what vx want to charge me. has anybody else taken this route?

You do have to get the two pipes and the connecting plastic tube from a VX dealer, around £80 od.... It's probably worth replacing both anyway, as the bottom will likely fail sometime after the top.....

So unless anyone comes on with an alternative, that's the way to go....

thanks for the offer, i'll let you you know if all doesnt go to plan. i had a word with my local stainless exhaust place about replacing the current set up. he thinks it should be easy enough and not to expensive, he's gonna have a look monday.

thats the one. im gonna look into the silicone and stainless first though. its good to know there are other options out there. think im gonna change the rubber bit of the oil pipe that runs across the top of the engine too as it looks like the jubilee has dug into it quite badly and almost gone through.

had it sorted very cheaply today. cut out the split bit and put some stainless tube in. only cost me £20, much better than vx's £80 + vat. my garage took the eml off for nothing too.
