    confused OK. RIghty. HELP! Whoop!

We have seen, 53 plate 2.0DTI. 44,000 miles.

We have a 2.2 Auto Signum. petrol.

I travel from Diss to Norwich 5 days a week. I get 28-30 mpg out of the signum. I do 50 miles a day!

What will I save going to the diesel? The Dti will cost £4500 to buy.

Part exchange on my signum is £3000.

I would hope to get over 40 mpg? on the diesel? I drive slow, hardly push it, as you dont get anywhere on the a140! lol

Dti good car? Good price? Worth doing for the change? Lower insurance! Whoop! Etc....?

The calculator is on a sticky thread http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...rol+calculator

Using your figures and todays fuel prices at Saisnburys you'll save just over £500 a year in fuel (based on 50 miles a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year (13k) and 40mpg vs 30mpg). Although, IMO that could be a bit pricey for the car, what spec is it? That's what I paid for my CDTI 8v LS (43k, FSH, national car dealer in Norwich - 49mpg >£800 saved a year vs 30mpg) last year before the credit crunch.

    Hullo!

This car is an LS Spec. 53 plate. From a Main Dealer. Full main dealer service History. 2 owners.

12 month tax, MOT & Warranty.

They are also giving me £3k for my signum Elite.

IS that not a good deal?

    IAn.

For the sake of a deisel engine you would lose all the Elite toys and end up with no toys/ bog standard and a deisel engine.

I dont care about toys though.

If I wanted toys, i'd buy a chav'd up civic with PS3's, tvs, etc.

    I want better fuel economy!

If you're gentle with the DTI you'll be getting well over 40mpg high 50s

price is a bit steep for a 53 plate you can get a 53 - 04 plate 1.9 smoker for that price

    wot reg is yours

theres plenty of 53 plate 2.0 smokers going for 3k

id shop around a bit more.

As above... it's deffo pricey for a 53plate regardless of mileage, i'm sure you could get a reasonable 1.9 for that money.
