Hi all.
I have an 02 1.8 LS. (first of new shape) Lately, especially when cold, the dash dials (Speed,Rev,Petrol,Temp) all go to zero and the battery, airbag lights come on . Engine continues to run and all the electrically item such as windows, radio and lights all still work. I have to quickly flick the ignition key off and on again which seems to reboot something and it all starts working agian. This can happen half a dozen times in a 30 min journey. Don't try this at home kids as it can be dangerous
Sometimes the dials as mentioned will flick off and come straight back on of their own accord without the need to do the flick thing!
I understand from reading some other posts that this might be the CIM behind the steering wheel. Unfortuantely Vauxhalls want 2 hours labour (£88 + vat per hour) to investigate and then say they can't guarentee finding the fault
Having said that I've had a dash freeze free afternoon and it hasn't done it at all today???
Any advice would be welcomed.
